BMG Music Publishing

BMG Music Publishing is the world's third largest music publisher. It controls the rights to more than a million songs, has offices throughout the world and is headquartered in New York.

The need

BMG Music Publishing required a stand-alone IT infrastructure following the merger of BMG Records with Sony Music Entertainment. The new company sought to establish a wide-area network that accommodated new offices throughout the world. It needed a trusted security partner to help it assess and validate IT security solutions - as proposed by leading network service providers.

We delivered...

ACSN defined the architectural design and technical implementation plan for the entire company network, which spanned 32 sites and 25 countries. The resulting Security Improvement Programme featured:

  • site audits to capture location-specific business requirements
  • business case
  • security policy
  • product requirements
  • implementation policies
  • post-implementation support
  • project planning

The plan was implemented on a site-by-site basis without the need to fly engineers around the globe - thus minimising costs.

The results

The Security Improvement Programme was implemented on time and within budget. The impact on the business was minimal. Global IT standards were assured thanks to central management from the UK.

"The separation of the business groups created a complex network and security challenge. A great deal had to be completed in a short period with minimal business impact. We have a number of product suppliers but this project required a rounded solution. ACSN's experience and knowledge of networks and IT security market provided us with major benefits."
